Chapter 2-College Sports Winners and Losers

This chapter starts right off talking about Indiana's famous coach, Bobby Knight. Bobby Knight made a controversial quote ("if rape is inevitable, relax and enjoy it") where he was comparing the pressure he had coaching to rape. This outraged many at IU but the president of the school said that Knight was not talking about the whole university but himself. The chapter goes on to talk about how during the 1980's and 90's, college sports scandals from AD's and coaches became huge and seemed to always happen. They criticized college presidents and how they did nothing to prevent it or stop it from happening. The chapter opens your eyes about what it truly means to be a student athlete and how these guys literally have no time on their hands. Even with the NCAA implementing the 20 hours a week 4 hours a day rule, the coaches still expect their athletes to come to "voluntary" workouts.
