Chapter 15 Drinking Off Campus and Far Off Campus (Spring Break)

They start the chapter off by bringing up what ended the last chapter which has been an occurring theme. That was that drinking on campus and now off campus has tried to be slowed down by schools. So kids found other alternatives by now going to bars off campus and at some big sports schools these bars are huge like at USF in Tampa. These bars have theme nights for each night and kids seem to be at these bars every night. It then talks about how undergrads advice to freshmen at schools is to get a fake ID. And then how some bars accept fake IDs even though they know its fake. They then continue to talk about certain theme nights at bars but also about how the massive advertising by beer companies has made alcoholic consumption go up. They then talk about how big business America loves spending money on things for spring break and they also talk about the origins of spring break. They then talk about students spring break adventures and how it really is anti-climatic for them and how its a good two weeks away from school. The chapter finishes up by talking about how students bring the drinking culture at school back to their hometowns or where ever they go that they can drink.
