Chapter 11 The Faculty/Student Nonaggression Pact

The chapter starts off talking about how students and professors make an agreement that if you dont bother me I wont bother you. Also it states that kids say that it is tempting not to go to class because you can still pass without going. The chapter then talks about how most introductory courses for anything from psych to math are taught in huge lectures to make more money for research and there are usually TA's in these classrooms. The chapter goes on to repeat a point made in a recent chapter about how sports and partying are the main priority at big universities and academics is not. The chapter then goes to talk about how students did or did not study hard yet they still received the same grade because of how easy these classes are at big universities. The chapter finishes up by talking about how more As and Bs are starting to become so easy to get while Cs, Ds and Fs are not really being given out. Teachers find ways to cut corners when it comes to grading and teaching.
