Chapter 1-Animal House
This chapter starts off by talking about the the 1970's movie "Animal House." I believe as college students most of us if not all of us have seen the movie and should know what its about. The author talks about how college was kind of dead during the 60's and frats and sororities were dying out. Then in the 70's college life started to really pick up again and a lot of that had to do with the movie "Animal House." Fraternity memberships doubled during the 70's because of this movie. Because of this movie, college life became a huge party to not only Greek life, but the normal college student. The authors explain how dorms were rowdy and always a party. Beer companies used these wild colleges to promote their product at not just sporting events, but on the lawns of college parties. Because of how wild and crazy college was, college costs went up and the government installed the rule of having to be the age of 21 to consume alcohol. The first chapter was a very interesting chapter to start reading. This chapter really drew into the book and started it off right.
